A temporary restraining order has essentially tied growers hands once again regarding use of dicamba in Arkansas at a critical time.
On May 24, Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chip Welch extended a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the Arkansas State Plant Board s 2021 emergency rule. The emergency rule made June 30 the last day for dicamba use on registered Arkansas crops. The extension of the restraining order was made at the request of plaintiffs who objected to the extended use period in the emergency rule. ....

Arkansas had it s challenges in 2020 with the heavy rainfalls in the spring, delayed planting and hurricanes during the growing season and at harvest, according to Andrew Grobmyer.
COVID-19 and pandemic recovery dominated an already busy election year for the Agricultural Council of Arkansas.
This year was one for the record books, according to Andrew Grobmyer, executive vice president & executive director of the Agricultural Council of Arkansas.  
We had a lot of major things going on,  Grobmyer said. It wasn t just a little passing year. It was one that we ll all remember.  
Grobmyer points out that while he was in the hospital with his wife anticipating the birth of his second child in January, he started picking up a developing story as news of a virus in China began hitting the headlines.  ....
