Twenty-one-year-old Vippandeep Bibi was halfway through her Level 7 studies in business when she had to urgently return home to visit her sick mum on short 15-day vacations on March 13, 2020, when New Zealand borders were closed, and she was locked out of the country.
Following the advice by her education provider, she almost completed her remaining course online in subsequent months, in the hope that she would be able to save her year from going waste and her precarious visa situation would also be salvaged by Immigration New Zealand and the government, as and when times come for her to be allowed to return New Zealand.

SRINAGAR, Feb 28 : Eleven days after he was fired at, Akash Kumar son of Rasmesh Kumar Mehra, owner of popular Krishna Dhaba succumbed to the bullet wounds at a hospital in Srinagar early today.
Akash, 25, a resident of Janipur Jammu, at present Dalgate area of Srinagar, died at the SMHS hospital at around 3:20 am.  He had a bullet wound in the right side of lower armpit and abdomen. He was on a ventilator for all these days and succumbed today.
He was fired at outside the Dhaba in Sonwar area of Srinagar earlier this month and was shifted to hospital in critical condition.

Hyderabad: A supermarket was fined Rs. 15,000 for charging customers Rs.3 on carry bags which had the company’s logo printed on them. The penalty was levied on More Supermarket by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission – II, Hyderabad, based on a complaint by a customer.
The fine was levied on More Supermarket on February 19, a complaint that accused it of using its customers as “advertisement” agents, and violating consumer laws. Akash Kumar, the complainant, approached the commission on June 1, 2019, demanding action against the supermarket for charging Rs. 3 for a carry bag with its logo.

Laggere on Tuesday. His wife’s family had called him under the pretext of wishing him.
The deceased has been identified as N Chetan, a resident of Laggere and an electrician. Chetan was married to Bhumika, from Kunigal in Tumkuru, just two months ago. The police have detained the suspects, Bhumika’s younger brother Akash Kumar, 19, a cab driver, her uncle, Nanjesh, 58, an assistant in a hotel and her first cousin, Dilip, 20, a flower vendor. Police said that Bhumika was in love with Chetan but her parents did not approve of their marriage.

Bargarh: The two brothers of Jokhipali village under Bijepur block in Bargarh district have appeared as godsends for many accident victims and set examples for others.
The two brothers are Dibas Kumar Sahu and Akash Kumar Sahu. While they were felicitated by the Bargarh district regional transport department for their humanitarian gesture Monday, the state transport department heaped praise on the siblings through its Twitter handle.
When one of the brothers Dibas was asked to narrate some anecdotes, Dibas said he had rescued some persons seriously injured in a road mishap that occurred at Dubalabahal Chowk January 14, 2018. He had taken them first to Diptipur primary health centre and then to VIMSAR, Burla in Sambalpur. This way, their lives were saved.

The Lagos Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of five illegal oil thieves to one year imprisonment each before Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos
The convicts, who are all Indian nationals, are: Visal Guleria, Pranjal Singh, Rahul Pathania , Akash Kumar and Sahil Sharma.
They were arrested by officers of the Nigerian Navy Ship NNS Beecroft , Alaka, Lagos on January 31, 2020 aboard the vessel, MV Bount carrying 45.9 MT of Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, with no relevant documentation and subsequently handed over to the Commission for further investigation and prosecution.

DUMKA: In a scene straight out of a Bollywood potboiler, two men accused in a murder case escaped from police custody while being taken to a court in Sahebganj district by taking control of the vehicle they were travelling in.
Akash Kumar and Anjana Kumar, residents of Dangal Para and Rasikpur in Dumka district, were arrested on Monday and were being taken to a sub-divisional court at Rajmahal in the neighbouring Sahebganj. As the vehicle reached the court, the police escorts and the driver stepped out, leaving the ignition key. The duo, who were handcuffed, started the vehicle and fled.
