The Utah drought had dried up America s Dead Sea , nearly nine feet lower water level than the long-term average of the lake.
As the largest salt water body in the western hemisphere, this is rather concerning for scientists not just in an environmental sense, but the knock-on effects it imposes to human health, along with wildlife, as long as it persists for years. ....

Great Salt Lake
A senior geologist with the Utah Geological Survey, Michael Van Denberg, says that microbialites - underwater reef-like rock mounds, are at risk of being prone to the air.
Van Denberg told KCPW that when the lake level is down, with the structures in the open, this might lead to their death - and the attractive microbial mat inhabiting on top of these structures will start eroding off the top.
Dr. Bonnie Baxter in Great Salt Lake Institute at Westminster College reveals that the condition could signify destruction for animals the lake is supporting, since the microbes make up the base of the whole ecosystem. Baxter said the uncomplicated food chain most people are aware of pertaining the lake is that birds visit the lake and they feed on the invertebrates like the brine shrimp and the brine flies. ....

June 2021 is the 'Hottest June' in History of America With Recordbreaking Temperature

June 2021 welcomes the summer season with extreme heat and drought, surpassing warmest temperature records set in North America, according to European Union s Copernicus program new data.
The heat record measured by billions of observations from satellite, aircraft and weather stations around the world found that the month of June was the fourth-hottest month recorded worldwide and the second-warmest recorded in Europe.
The North-east region of Europe has warmed the most at its peak, while heatwave conditions remained in western North America which broke heat records.
