Lubbock s Alderson Family of Dealerships this week announced that the company with a more than 70-year history in the Hub City will soon be led by a San Antonio based auto group. Alderson, which was founded in Lubbock in 1949 and now has dealerships in Lubbock and Midland, will be part of the Cavender Auto Group, pending a sale that s expected to close within the next 90 to 120 days. David Alderson, the company s third-generation owner who also serves as its president and CEO, said now seemed like the right time to transition to new leadership and for his family to step back from the company, adding that the Cavender Auto Group seemed like the best fit to take over. ....

The announcement was made Monday morning after employees were notified. The company has been in business since 1949 and has locations in Lubbock and Midland: Cadillac at 1210 19th Street Lubbock, Texas, BMW at 1120 19th Street, Mercedes-Benz either in Lubbock at 1702 Texas Avenue or in Midland at 5801 Andrews Highway, Lexus at 1302 19th Street, or Audi Lubbock at 1949 W. Loop 289. ....
