As the 2021 Dakar Rally was underway M-Sport Race Mechanic, Alex Crellin, from Cockermouth, was travelling between stages when suddenly his vehicle swerved to avoid the stricken puppy. Jumping out of the car to investigate, he found the pup in a very bad condition. He named her The Dakar Desert Princess. Thanks to treatment and tender loving care she is now thriving and plans are being made to bring her back to Cumbria.
