NORTHERN MARIANAS CLASS ACTION GARMENT SUIT DISMISSAL SUSTAINED

SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands (August 24, 1999 – Saipan Tribune) -The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has refused to reverse Saipan District Court Judge Alex Munson s order dismissing the complaint lodged by 23 nonresident workers in a class action lawsuit against Saipan s garment companies.
In dismissing the appeal filed by the anonymous plaintiffs, the appellate court said it would be premature to reverse Munson s decision because it was not a final order or judgment.
A review of the district court docket reflects that the district court s order challenged in this appeal did not dispose of the action as to all claims and all parties, the appellate court s August. 18 order stated. ....
