MacKinnon, Rantanen score, Avs beat Sharks, 4-3 | The China Post, Taiwan

DENVER (AP) — Nathan MacKinnon bounced back from a rare scoreless night with a goal and an assist to lead the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-3 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

Mikko Rantanen scored his 28th of the season and added an assist for Colorado and Devan Dubnyk stopped 22 shots against his former team.

Arizona Coyotes fall behind early and can't complete comeback

Game Recap
Last night was one of the important games for the Arizona Coyotes. They have fewer than ten games remaining in the regular season, and the Blues had just overtaken them for the final playoff spot earlier in the day.
And in what may be the worst possible start to an important game, a miscommunication between Darcy Kuemper and Jason Demers led to an early goal.
The San Jose Sharks’ Noah Gregor picking up the puck behind the goal line and shoot it at an out-of-position Kuemper. The puck went in, and the Sharks had a 1-0 lead 17 seconds into the game.

The game is to be played as scheduled after talks with team and health officials. The decision comes in the wake of the Vancouver Canucks shutting down for an undetermined time after a variant of COVID-19 got in their room, affecting more than 20 players and staff.

Player grades: McDavid's brilliance not quite enough as Edmonton Oilers drop a tight one in T.O.

Oilers 2, Maple Leafs 4
A pretty good effort by the Edmonton Oilers on Friday probably deserved at least a point, but the club’s special teams let them down for the third time in a week. That’s death for a team that feasted off of special teams success a season ago, but has yet to find the range in 2021. On this night the failure of the two units was the difference in a 4-2 loss to Toronto Maple Leafs.
