Tulsa Area United Way celebrated 100 years with a birthday party at Expo Square and the unveiling of its centennial shirt on the Golden Driller.
The organization began in 1924 as the Tulsa Community Fund, with Monday marking 100 years to the day that it launched its first fundraising campaign.
The Tulsa Area United Way kicks off a week of centennial activities starting Monday with a birthday celebration at Expo Square.
Our centennial theme is “100 Starts with 1” — one company, one donor, one, 'what if?'" says Alison Anthony, TAUW president and CEO.
Almost $3 million of value was added to the $25,800,721 from the annual fund drive by gifts outside of fundraising, in-kind gifts and volunteer hours.
