'We'll keep showing up' | 3/20 Coalition hosts solidarity protest in downtown State College to demand justice for Daunte Wright

Wright was a 20-year-old Black man who was killed by a police officer at a traffic stop, according to the New York Times.
3/20 Coalition was created following the death of Osaze Osagie, who was fatally shot on March 20, 2019 by a State College Police officer serving a mental health warrant.
Osagie, who had autism and a history of schizophrenia, allegedly ran at officers with a knife. After an unsuccessful attempt to deploy a Taser on Osagie, he was allegedly shot by Officer M. Jordan Pieniazek. The three officers involved in the shooting have not been charged. ....

At the end of his speech, Green left the protest with one final thought.
“A cop in Clearfield County is a cop in Centre County,” he said. “A cop in Pennsylvania is a cop in Michigan!”

“I’m tired of being at the bottom of America’s totem pole,” Williams said. “I’m tired of the hashtags.”

R. Nanre Nafziger-Mayegun, co-chair of the 3/20 Coalition, concluded the protest with a heartfelt speech, “Our sons are crying for their mothers.”

“I’m not going to bury my son,” Nafziger-Mayegun said. “Mothers are not allowed to bury their sons. They’re not allowed to attend their funerals because it’s too hard.” ....
