Bhubaneswar: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said states such as Odisha will get lion’s share of benefits in allocation in the interim Bud.
An allocation of Rs 2.70 lakh crore was made for the highways sector for 2023-24, which was revised to Rs 2.76 lakh crore. NHAI and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) are primarily responsible for the construction of national highways and expressways in India.
The Department of Space in India has received an increased budget of nearly Rs 2,000 crore in the interim budget for 2024-25 compared to the revised estimates for 2023-24. The allocation for the Department of Space now stands at Rs 13,042.75 crore, up from Rs 11,070.07 crore. The increased budget reflects the importance of space technology, with a significant rise in allocation for space technology from Rs 8,180 crore in 2023-24 to Rs 10,087 crore in 2024-25. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set ambitious targets for the Department of Space, including building a space station by 2035 and landing an Indian astronaut on the moon by 2040.
The Centre has allocated Rs 10,536 crore in the interim budget for the development of the railway sector in Odisha, marking the highest allocation for the state so far.
