PROVIDENCE Although Rhode Island, like other states, has not received all of the doses of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines that were expected this month, “overall, we haven’t been significantly hampered” in vaccinating the highest-priority residents, Health Department Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott said Tuesday afternoon. ....

RI Health Department provides COVID vaccine update


PROVIDENCE Although Rhode Island, like other states, has not received all of the doses of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines that were expected this month, “overall, we haven’t been significantly hampered” in vaccinating the highest-priority residents, Health Department Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott said Tuesday afternoon.
The state has, however, been forced to adjust its vaccination rollout plans, Alexander-Scott said during an hour-long virtual media briefing. And those adjustments, she and senior members of her staff asserted, will continue during the weeks and months to come as possible new problems arise, manufacturing ramps up and new vaccines from other companies are expected to become available. ....
