Fragmented alliances, parties to make Maharashtra Lok Sabha polls unlike any other
Maharashtra, which has 48 Lok Sabha seats, ranks second only to Uttar Pradesh (80). In the 2019 elections, the BJP excelled, securing 23 out of 25 seats in alliance with the Shiv Sena, which won 18. The current scenario is intricate due to the Shiv Sena's split. Similarly, the NCP is divided, with a sizable faction siding with Ajit Pawar in alliance with the BJP-Shiv Sena coalition, while Sharad Pawar aligns with the Opposition.
