Willie Spence is wowing America with his amazing voice – and leaving the American Idol judges with chills. These are three legends that I’m singing in front of, said Spence, a native of Douglas, Ga. I love all of the judges. They’re nice and they motivate me and they keep me going. The singer says his small hometown has shown love and support in a big way. People, they send me pictures of billboards and signs all around the city, he said. And that just lifts my spirit and it makes me happy and I’m just grateful to have a great hometown like Douglas. The American Idol journey has been an emotional one for Spence.He dedicated his performance of ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ to his grandfather – who he recently lost to COVID-19.
