The late author’s son Daniel surrounded himself with drug addicts and murderers – and his horrific death changed his father for good

Daniel Auster, son of writers Paul Auster and Lydia Davis, had been charged in the death of his 10-month-old daughter from heroin and fentanyl exposure. He died after being taken off life support following a drug overdose, law enforcement officials said.

The son of the famous novelist Paul Auster was found unconscious in a Brooklyn subway station and later taken off life support, officials said.
