ELG Sweet Boutique opened last month inside The Mustard Seed Place (the former Tidewater Community College Visual Arts & Design Center building) on the corner of High Street and Court Street.
Previously Tidewater Community College's visual arts center, the property originally opened in 1916 as The Famous, a renowned department store and bridal boutique. Now, the site provides an environment to empower women by providing resources, mentorship and community support.
Founder and CEO Dr. Angela Reddix said she was inspired to create the "innovative" space to help empower other women to follow their passions.
