Since she was a little girl, growing up during World War II, a Haven native has cared for chickens and collected their eggs. Off of a dirt road, about a mile or so south of Haven, Elaine and Robert Headings opened a country store. Because they are Amish and want to cater to their community, as well as those outside of it, they sell all types of fabric, including batting, and sewing supplies, so people can sew their own garments and quilts. The Headings bought Anna Borntrager's Country Variety Store's inventory when she retired in December.
