Lady Bucks look for more hoops success
Smackover’s basketball girls struggled through a 2-17 season a year ago. Coach Jon Pigott took over the program late in the spring and used the summer to hone the players’ skills. He believes it was time and effort well spent, which will pay dividends this season.

PARKERS CHAPEL - Parkers Chapel staged a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh and edged Fordyce 8-7 Tuesday. The Lady Trojans improved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Lady Dragons, Lady Bucks take road wins
DONALDSON - Junction City played error-free softball Tuesday in a 6-0 league win at Ouachita. The Lady Dragons improved to 3-0 on the season. Sophomore Karla Castillo allowed just four hits with one walk and four strikeouts in seven innings.
