Smackover’s basketball girls struggled through a 2-17 season a year ago. Coach Jon Pigott took over the program late in the spring and used the summer to hone the players’ skills. He believes it was time and effort well spent, which will pay dividends this season.

Smackover aiming to build off of busy summer
Girls’ basketball hasn’t been the most successful program at Smackover in recent years. New coach Jon Pigott and the Lady Bucks have been working this summer to change that. Smackover has been to Lafayette County summer dates four times and to Genoa Central once, playing a total of 15 games this summer.
