PARKERS CHAPEL - If everyday could be Christmas and New Year’s, Smackover might ride its sleigh deep into the state tournament. The Buckaroos won their second holiday tournament in as many weeks Saturday night, rallying past Georgetown (La.) 58-56 in the championship game of the Jammin’ at the Jack Holiday Classic.
PARKERS CHAPEL - The Jammin’ at the Jack Holiday Classic tipped off Thursday with a bit of an upset in the girls’ bracket. Strong never trailed in a 46-40 victory over Starks (La.).
West Side Christian’s boys and girls both advanced to Friday’s championship games of the Winter Warrior Tip-Off. The Warriors beat Claiborne Academy 67-48 and will face Smackover in the boys’ title game at 7 p.m. The Lady Warriors doubled up Hermitage 42-20 and will play Providence Classical at 5:30 p.m. for the girls’ championship.
Smackover could buy everything but free throws Tuesday as the Lady Bucks fell to River Oaks 46-39 in overtime at the Winter Warrior Tip-Off at West Side Christian.
