Adair County SB40 awards $45,000 to Community Opportunities Arthythe Curtis has no issues walking into work each day. Curtis, a longtime volunteer at Community Opportunities, took over as the program’s executive director in March. Community Opportunities opened in 1969 and employs individuals with developmental disabilities, giving them an opportunity to earn money and be part of a service. That includes recycling, car detailing and custodial services. “Every morning I walk in, I am greeted with smiles and ‘Good morning. How are you?’ You can’t beat that, you just can’t,” Curtis said. “They give 100 percent, like I said, and they do it unconditionally. I’m very passionate about things, especially when I believe in them, and I believe in this program. I think it serves a very good purpose.” ....
