Joran van der Sloot, the now 36-year-old man from Aruba long believed to be responsible for the death of  tourist Natalee Holloway in 2005 pleaded guilty Wednesday in a Birmingham, Alabama federal courtroom to wire fraud and extortion charges. He had tried to get money from the missing girl's parents in exchange for information about her demise.

Coast Guard detains 14 illegal immigrants in Aruba's territorial waters
ORANJESTAD - The Coast Guard arrested 14 illegal immigrants at sea on Wednesday evening. This happened after the Coast Guard radar system spotted a suspicious vessel sailing from Venezuela to Aruba. The Coast Guard reports this on Thursday.
The Coast Guard Rescue and Coordination Center has directed a Metal Shark to the site of the vessel. On arrival, a boat with 14 undocumented people on board was found.
The boat was escorted to Naval Base Savaneta in collaboration with the helicopter of the Aruba Police Force. There, the illegal Venezuelans, including two women and 12 men, were handed over to the Coast Guard.
