The asteroid activity around Earth has increased lately. Now, NASA has issued a warning that another asteroid - approximately the size of an aeroplane - is on its way to Earth and will reach its closest approach today, August 28.
The small asteroid will fly by Earth with a close approach estimated to be 23% of the Moon’s proximate distance to our planet.
The giant asteroid has been estimated to approach Earth in the next several hours. Asteroid 388945 (2008 TZ3) is projected to "dangerously" approach Earth in the next few hours but with an estimated safe passage on our planet's orbit this coming weekend.
The space rock will be relatively close to Earth when it passes, and it will likely not hit our planet, says US space authorities.
Although it is April Fools’ Day, the massive asteroid will indeed fly by Earth on April 1, as per astronomers.
