Whoohoo South Carolina calls itself the first in the south primary for both the democrats and the republicans. For democrats its a particularly important state because nonwhite voters are such an important part and such a big part of the democratic partys voting base and the other early states, New Hampshire and iowa, theyre pretty white. So for democrats, South Carolina is really important test of the strength of their various candidates particularly among this very, very Important Group that is africanamerican democratic voters.
