Student Life sat down with the incoming Editors-in-Chiefs to talk briefly about their thoughts on journalism and their goals for the upcoming year. Nina Giraldo (NG) formerly served as Senior News Editor and Avi Holzman (AH) formerly served as Managing News Editor. Their tenure started on April 1.
Emily Chen, the outgoing Student Union (SU) President, sat down for an interview with Avi Holzman, one of StudLife’s Editors-in-Chief, on April 5 ahead of the SU inauguration on April 11. The conversation covered topics from past Q&A’s, reflections on the year as president, WILD funding, and what she will take with her from this experience after she graduates. Due to icy conditions in St. Louis, all classes and student activities on Monday, Jan. 22 are virtual. Most dining locations are closed on campus or have modified hours, and the Sumers Recreation Center and the South 40 gym will be closed all day.
On Thursday afternoon, just over a dozen students participated in a “die-in” outside of the Danforth University Center (DUC) in support of Palestinians and to urge the University to cut ties with Boeing. The students laid down in the DUC courtyard, spreading Palestinian flags over their bodies, holding signs, and chanting.
