Grant County gears up for Easter festivities

GRANT COUNTY — It’s that time again when kids from around the county receive copious amounts of chocolate while frantically searching for colored hard-boiled or plastic candy-filled Easter eggs that can be both easy and difficult to locate. Communities across Grant County will put on a host of Easter events for families ranging from egg coloring to fun runs and of course, Easter egg hunts.

County Easter celebrations will get underway in Long Creek on Saturday, March 23. Long Creek Mercantile will be hosting the second annual Easter egg hunt with a special golden egg from 9 a.m. until noon at the Long Creek Community Center. Along with the egg hunt, Breakfast, Easter crafts and pictures with the Easter bunny will be offered as well.

Festivities will continue on Friday, March 29 with Easter egg coloring at the John Day Fire Hall located at 316 S. Canyon Blvd. from 11 a.m. until noon. Easter activities will end on March 29 with a 2 p.m. children’s Easter egg hunt at Blue Mountain Care Center located at 112 E. Fifth St. in Prairie City.
