MY WIFE and I regularly walk for fresh air and exercise along Lepe Beach from the café as far as the Cadland boundary. This involves scrambling over the concrete and brick remains of the buildings that were involved in the Mulberry Harbour production for D Day. The remains are very much now eroded and decrepit. What intrigues us is, where did the work force come from to carry out the construction? Where did they live whilst working and where did all the materials come from for the actual construction?
