A local businessman who was recently appointed to the City Council has had so-called “illegal activity” removed from a 7-acre property that he hopes to develop into a self-storage facility near the Bethel border. Joe Putnam of Putnam Automotive Group and also the owner of the Amber Room Colonnade, complied with city orders to remove construction trucks from adjacent property he owns on Great Pasture Road.

Governor Ned Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker on Tuesday, announced the release of more than $4.5 million in funding for 48 school districts and summer camp programs across Connecticut that will be used to support the delivery of mental health services for students during the summer months over a three-year period. Grants range from $12,000 to $50,000 in each of the first two years, and are then reduced to 70% of that amount in year three. The latest round of storms to hit our area over this past weekend, left a lot of people without power. On Sunday morning, Eversource reported that about 1,800 customers were affected, and United Illuminating said they had another 116 without power. Stamford in Fairfield County led the list of those still without power yesterday morning, with 157 customers remaining in the dark. As of last report, everyone who lost power has by now got their lights back on.
