Dan Carter has announced plans to run for a full term as Bethel first selectman on the Republican ticket. Carter became Bethel’s first selectman in February after defeating Democrat Rich Straiton in a special election. He now says that he loves the job and so he has decided to run for a full term. If reelected, Carter said improved communication and development would continue to be among his top priorities. He also said that another goal is developing Bethel’s economy. The Democrats have not yet announced a candidate for first selectman for the fall election.
