Police are continuing their search for two people who they say robbed The Cloud 9 Smoke Shop in Danbury, and in doing so, fought with an employee and a witness. It happened Tuesday evening, just before 7 at the business on German Road. An employee told police that two men wearing ski masks arrived in a grey Volkswagen. They run out of the store with cases of product. Nobody was hurt. Anyone with any information that they think might help nab the thieves should call Danbury Police.

We have the results of the BROOKFIELD REFERENDUM…. The School Operating Budget was voted down, 844 to 809. The non binding advisory on the School Operating budget showed 818 people think it is too high; 527 believe it is adequate; and 284 said it was too low. As for the town operating budget, it passed, 878 to 776. The non binding advisory showed that 752 people thought it was too high; 736 felt it was adequate; and 138 people thought it was too low. The referendum on Capital Investments passed with 958 YES votes and 680 NO votes. The NEXT BUDGET REFERENDUM will be on Tuesday, May 30th ...

Danbury firefighters were called out around 10:30 Monday night after a structure fire was reported on Main St. Crews arrived to find flames shooting from the rear of a 2 and a half story residential building. It was feared that there were still people inside, so more fire companies were called in. First responders quickly searched the building and determined that everyone inside had gotten out safely, and all occupants had been accounted for.The fire was brought under control in under 45 minutes. State Senator Julie Kushner of Danbury… who has been hiking Connecticut’s trails for more than a decade… welcomed an announcement Monday by the Lamont administration that Bennett’s Pond State Park in Ridgefield has been awarded a $34,125 grant through the state’s Recreational Trails Program to restore the 4.4-mile Green Trail at the park. The 460-acre Bennett’s Pond State Park abuts another 1,800 contiguous acres of open space in both Ridgefield and Danbury and features bicycling, hiking, allows dogs on a leash, fishing, and fall archery hunting of deer.
