The Yanks Conquer Britain Baverley Baxter LAST NIGHT an American brigadier came to my house for dinner. He had just flown from France and was full of interesting talk of what is going on there. I was delighted to have him as my guest. and was more than interested in what he had to say, but for a brave man he showed an astonishing timidity about one thing. Not once but at least 10 times he said: "You won't quote me, will you?" As he w~s not, divulging any military 4ecrets but merely giving a shrewd eyewitness account I won(ler(d why he was so ap prehensive, and finally asked him the reason.
