Al Scott's political career marked by successes at local, state levels

Effective, humble, wise and perceptive. Those are just a few of the words friends and colleagues use to describe Al Scott. On Friday when the Chatham County Commission holds its first meeting of 2021, Scott won’t be at the helm as chairman for the first time in eight years.
Meeting his term limits for chairman, Scott took aim at Chatham County Tax Commission last year, but lost that bid to Sonya Jackson during the primary election in June.
