2 hospitalized after rear-end crash amid grass fire

HOLT COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 11:30a.m. Tuesday in Holt County.The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Ford F150 driven by Steven A. Portman, 47, Craig, was southbound on Beagle Road one half mile south of Craig.A grass fire created zero visibility. The pickup rear-ended a 2021 Dodge Durango driven by Jonathan S. Black, 31, Craig, while it was parked. Atchison Holt ambulance transported both drivers to Fairfax Community Hospital. They were both properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
