The 5 Towns Jewish Times December 10, 2020 Rabbi Gedalia Dov Schwartz (JTA) — Rabbi Gedalia Dov Schwartz, a longtime judge in Orthodox rabbinical courts and a leading authority in Jewish law, died Thursday. He was 95. Schwartz served as the lead judge for the Beth Din of America, one of the major Jewish courts in the United States, for nearly 30 years. He also led the court of the Chicago Rabbinical Council since moving there from Brooklyn in 1987.
