The orchestra will be joined by a Grammy-nominated soloist and three area choirs to perform Ralph Vaughan Williams' “Five Mystical Songs” in the concert, set for 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.
In anticipation of its upcoming concert, the BSO will hold a Notes of Wine and Music event at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge, 7598 Bemidji Road NE.
“Love Songs of the Big Screen” is the theme for the concert. It will include pieces from a variety of epic movies, from “Casablanca” to “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.”
The BSO is offering a family discount for the concert. Students in grades K-12 will be admitted free, and adults who bring children to the concert can purchased tickets for $10 at the door.
Eric Haugen and Max Wolpert, now both 30 years old, performed together as members of the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra when they were 11.
