some of what we are about to show you is graphic. body cam video showing officer ace preaching with hitter firearms, yanking nichols out of his car. he breaks free from the officers and runs towards his parents home. a struggle ensues after a chase. police then using pepper spray, batons, their fists, their feet to beatnik cols. at one point, he cries out for his mother. mom! mom! mom! video from a pole camera showing the full extent. you see nichols there, who is unarmed, kicked in the face, struck at least nine times in a few minutes. at that point, bloodied and propped up onto a squad car. officers are then seen just standing around, not providing nichols with any potentially lifesaving aid. five former memphis police officers now facing several charges including second-degree murder and kidnapping. and after the release of this video, two shelby county deputies who were also there on the scene have now been put on leave pending an investigation into their con ....

Just for people who, so you know at home, that s the specialized unit they were a part of, and it was tasked with patrolling high-crime hotspots and focusing on game-remlated crimes, drugs. this was for an alleged reckless driving stop, which we should remind everyone they can t find any oefd that at this point. is it typical for a specialized unit to handle a traffic offense like that? and more broadly, what are your thoughts on up with of these more specialized units? well, they re the police, and so, you know, they can get involved in police activeity if they want to. their primary function is to be proactive. they re not tied to the radio so they re not out there seeing a man and woman on a radio call. they re free to get involved in activities that a patrol officer would haven t the time to do. so it s not something they re prohibited from doing, but these are what i call elephant hunters. these are billy bad-ass, kick butt and take names. we saw that when they approached ....
