âHeroâ to hype up the release of their upcoming album âVan Weezerâ? Forget about all that for now! The lads have decided to release a surprise new album instead. If thereâs anything you learn from being a fan of modern-day Weezer, itâs that hoping a new Weezer album is brilliant is like playing roulette and putting your entire monthâs pay check on green. Whilst Cuomo & Coâs recent release schedule would imply that the band are more focused on quantity over quality â they will have released four albums in just over two years by the time their next effort âVan Weezerâ drops on May 7th â âOK Humanâ defies that idea and is actually the best album Weezer has released since ....
Now, ‘OK Human’ – described by frontman Rivers Cuomo in a previous Entertainment Weekly interview as a piano-based, orchestral album – will arrive on January 29 before its hard rock counterpart ‘Van Weezer’ on May 7. Advertisement Cuomo told EW back in 2019: “‘Van Weezer’ is in mortal combat with ‘Okay Human’, a record that’s mostly done. That one’s totally different. It’s inspired by an album from 1970 called Nilsson Sings Newman. It’s all piano-based, but it has a ton of orchestration. We just did the strings at Abbey Road.
