Public Health reports 32 new cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County; vaccine distribution to frontline workers continues


The following press release was issued by Calaveras Public Health. 
On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed 32 additional cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. To date, Calaveras Public Health reports a total of 754 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those cases, 604 cases have since recovered while 128 cases remain active. There have been a total of 22 confirmed deaths related to COVID-19 reported in Calaveras County.
Due to the holidays, Calaveras Public Health will not be reporting on COVID-19 numbers on Friday, December 25th and Friday, January 1st.
The Regional Stay at Home Order remains in effect. Calaveras County is grouped with 11 other counties which include: Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, San Benito, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, Tuolumne. Calaveras is currently subject to the requirements of the Regional Stay at Home Order given that the regional ICU bed capacity remains below 15%.

County now offering mobile COVID-19 testing sites


The following press release was issued by Calaveras Public Health.
On Friday, December 18, 2020, Calaveras Public Health announced that it will now be offering no-cost COVID-19 testing. The first mobile testing site is scheduled for Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the West Point Community Hall located at 22283 Highway 26, West Point.
No appointment is needed. Register ahead and show up anytime during testing hours. People can register using a QR code or by visiting https://bit.ly/3h1pTMT. Masks covering your nose and mouth are required. Other dates and locations will be announced.

Free COVID-19 testing soon available at mobile testing site in Calaveras


Testing for COVID-19 is advised, especially:
People who have symptoms of COVID-19.
People who have had close contact with someone that is confirmed to have COVID-19.
People who have been asked or referred to get tested by their healthcare provider.
No-cost testing will continue at the OptumServe COVID-19 testing site at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, Blake Elliot Building (Creekside), 220 Southgate Drive in Sonora. The OptumServe site is open seven days a week. Register at www.lhi.care/covidtesting or call (888) 634-1123.

On Friday, December 18, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed 45 additional cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. To date, Calaveras Public Health reports a total of 722 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those cases, 584 cases have since recovered while 116 cases remain active. There have been a total of 22 confirmed deaths related to COVID-19 reported in Calaveras County.

Calaveras County Reports 54 New COVID-19 Cases


San Andreas, CA – Calaveras Public Health reports 54 new COVID-19 Cases. As reported here Calaveras County Schools are switching to remote learning ahead of the two-week winter break.
Currently, there are a total of 642 confirmed cases in the county with four hospitalized, 84 active. An additional 81 are listed as recovered for a total of 536 recovered and 22 confirmed deaths related to COVID-19. The gender breakdown is 350 females and 292 males infected. The age range with the most cases remains 18-49 with 277 followed by 65 plus at 179.
Calaveras County is in the San Joaquin Valley Region and is currently subject to the state’s Regional Stay at Home Order with ICU bed capacity below 15%. The state reports 95.5% of regional ICU beds are filled. The order will be reviewed on December 27. Under it, health officials urge the public to stay at home as much as possible to limit the mixing with other households that can lead to COVID-19 spread. Limited travel is allowed for critical services and outdoor activities for physical and mental health.

On Friday, December 11, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed 54 additional cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. To date, Calaveras Public Health reports a total of 642 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those cases, 536 cases have since recovered while 84 cases remain active. There have been a total of 22 confirmed deaths related to COVID-19 reported in Calaveras County.
As of December 6, 2020 at 11:59 pm, the Regional Stay at Home Order went into effect.  The state released a map of the 5 regions being measured.
