Bald Eagle Watching Days return for 38th year in Sauk Prairie this weekend

Bald eagle lovers can watch the majestic birds soar above the Wisconsin River from a newly renovated overlook in Prairie du Sac for the 38th year of the event.
In January, Ferry Bluff Eagle Council held its 35th annual eagle watching days and for as many years the group has kept careful count on how the majestic bird fares during its winter stay along the lower Wisconsin River.
Ferry Bluff Eagle Council volunteers have been keeping track of bald eagles that winter in the Prairie du Sac area along the Wisconsin River since 1988. The group not only provides valuable data to state and federal wildlife agencies, but its work has also cultivated public awareness and community buy-in that having eagles "in the neighborhood" matters.
