For about a month, members of the Scituate Public Grounds Division have been working on a special project – they have been restoring approximately 15 veteran memorial signs/markers throughout town.
These signs/markers honor the men and women who served in the U.S. military or who gave the last full measure of devotion to their nation, said DPW equipment operator John Kerr, who served four years active duty in the U.S. Marines.
“If the sign has a white star it denotes the veteran served their nation; a gold star means they gave the ultimate sacrifice and died in combat for their nation.”
