Frigid temps on the way but forget snow

Itâs been over 40 years since Florida saw any significant snow.
In January 1977, people woke to find white stuff on their windshields and the ground. There was enough to make a decent snowball.
Even though itâs going to get down to around 28 degrees overnight Friday, donât look for a repeat snow event.

Salvation Army cold weather shelter open
The Salvation Army will have its Cold Weather Shelter open Thursday, Dec. 24, beginning at 7 p.m., closing at 7 a.m. Dec. 25. The shelter is at The Salvation Army, 712 S. School Ave., Lecanto.
Face masks are required to be worn while at the shelter. ....

WILMINGTON The Clinton County Land Bank and local partners joined together to clean up two properties in the City of Wilmington.
In late September, the City of Wilmington and the Clinton County Juvenile Court Services worked together to start cleaning 263 Mulberry St. Chad Mason, Community Service Coordinator for the Juvenile Court Services, coordinated the assistance to remove items inside the house, as well as clearing the overgrown landscape outside. ....
