Cancer support center, animal rescue in Central Jersey win Gannett Foundation grants

Two local nonprofit organizations received grants from A Community Thrives, a USA TODAY NETWORK program.
Bedminster-based Cancer Support Community Central, or CSCCNJ, and Milltown-based Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society have been awarded $9,000 and $6,000 grants, respectively.
The merit-based grants are designed to support general operating expenses.
Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society, a nonprofit that puts a positive light on animal rescue efforts, will use the funds to make community involvement and outreach  tenets of the organization a formal program in 2021, said Assistant Executive Director Jim LaCanna. ....
