A Gaston County grand jury returned first-degree murder indictments this week against three people, including a 16-year-old girl, in a double homicide case that left men from Bessemer City and Kings Mountain dead. The grand jury also returned two true bills of indictment for first-degree murder against a 16-year-old girl, also from Taylorsville, in this case. A three-day search for a man wanted for a double homicide in western Gaston County ended early Monday morning more than 60 miles away in a hotel in the foothills of western North Carolina. Police from two counties and four agencies captured 19-year-old Michael Shane Barnes of Taylorsville as he left a Quality Inn off U.S. 421 in Wilkesboro just after midnight.
