Nepal, Sri Lanka to jointly promote tourism

The Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Dr Dhananjaya Regmi had an official meeting with the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal Himalee Subhashini Arunatilika at Kathmandu regarding tourism promotion between two countries with cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides stressed cooperation for the promotion of tourism in each other’s countries. Likewise, both sides expressed the view that more cooperation is needed for the promotion of tourism.

It can be gauged from the Buddhist publications in and around 1880s that the ordinary Sinhalese were experiencing an acute sense of despair and disquiet that colonialism had brought about a social degeneration evidenced by increased consumption of liquor and associated problems of family violence, cattle stealing, gambling, and crime. Even the colonial civil servants from numerous districts complained to the Governor that social disorganization was affecting administration, revenue collection and policing.
