Meow, Meow, Meow: A Christmas Miracle for kittens in South Jersey

WESTAMPTON  Among paper, bottles and cans moving along a conveyer belt at the Burlington County Recycling Center workers spotted a backpack. It s not unusual for residents to sometimes toss a trash item into their curbside recycling buckets, so at first sight a backpack did not surprise employees   until it started to move. And then cry. In retrieving the backpack, shocked employees discovered three kittens stuffed inside all, thankfully, still alive. Quite miraculous, the workers thought, because the apparently abandoned kittens survived quite a journey and more than frigid weather. They were dumped along with bottles and cans into a recycling truck picking up containers at curbside and then were dumped out again at the Burlington County Recycling Center in Westampton, where mixed recyclables are sorted and sent to commercial recyclers.
