Heeding the evacuation order. we did see some people at their homes trying to water things down. the winds and the conditions here have just gotten worse. just on the other side of this ridge, there was a spot pifire popping up. it took it minutes and minutes to try to get in there because the wind is blowing so heavily. if you look up into the mountains here, can you see the intensity of the wind in the trees and all afternoon and the last 15, 20 minutes we would just see these massive flames coming off of different parts of the mountain as that wind pushes it down toward santa barbara. it is really make or break for these firefighters. they ve had really bad santa ana winds, very, very dry conditions over the last week, they had a few days break where they thought they were getting on top of it, doing burnout operations and trying to get rid of a lot of the undergrowth here and ....

Dry things up. but, we are also dealing with flooding across the gulf coast states. the central u.s. and the northeast where we saw extreme weather just a couple of hours ago. in some cases 4 to 6 inches in just a matter of hours. in around philadelphia, stretching in towards new jersey and up into new york. luckily, that has faded and we should have a commute home that is a little bit easier. also want to point out the tropics getting hot, shepard, watching this low pressure off the coast of africa and across the caribbean. this could be our next named system over the next couple of days. aaron will be the name. gulf coast needs to watch out. erin will be the name. several states could use some of that the rain you mentioned including idaho where a wildfire has burned at least 140 square miles of land near boise. the flame still threatens the towns but crew have conducted burnout operations to push the flames toward a baron area. the polls are about to ....
