Bread & Puppet Press is pleased to announce the release of the 2023 calendar, Elka’s Calendar. 2023 marks the 60th year since the founding of Bread & Puppet Theater by Peter and Elka Schumann in New York City in 1963. Elka, founder of the Bread and Puppet Press in 1984, passed away at the age of 85 on August 1, 2021. The Bread & Puppet calendars were one of Elka’s favorite projects.
