Winds in Kelowna have picked up, reaching 17 km/h on Tuesday night, 15 km/h on Wednesday morning, with gusts reaching 28 km/h at 4 a.m.
BC Wildfire says the increase in size isn’t necessarily due to new growth, but to new mapping following a break in visibility.
The fire was discovered at 2:17 p.m., on Friday. It’s located on Rattlesnake Point, not far from Cosens Bay and Turtles Head Point.
