Patrick Thompson denied any role in an IRA landmine explosion in south Armagh in July 1975.
A man jailed for the murder of four British soldiers nearly 50 years ago was wrongly convicted on the basis of his alleged confession to an “irredeemably tainted” senior detective, the Court of Appeal heard today.
The crime was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the Glenn County Sheriff’s office in Glenn County, California.
