Hull s impact recognized in Farber ceremony Published by admin on Thu, 05/06/2021 - 9:26pm The life and service of the late Vernelle Hull was in focus at a special dedication ceremony at the Farber Library Saturday, April 24. Hull was instrumental in the establishment of the Farber Branch Library, which opened in 1966, with Hull serving as branch manager. During her 54-year career - from July 1966 to February 2020 - she spent countless hours developing the Farber Library and serving her community. In her honor, a memorial bench was presented by Farber Community Betterment as was a bronze plaque with her image commemorating her tireless efforts and selfless acts. ....
The Alida Rec. Board members are planning another fundraiser – of course with COVID restrictions keeping everyone apart. They are going to try an online auction. The funds will go to support the expenses of the facilities in the community. Donated items are being collected, photographed and posted on Facebook in the online event. Bidding will start April 9 at 9 a.m. and end April 11 at 9 p.m. and the board will award the item to the highest bidder at that point. One can make payment by e-transfers or cash. Pickup can be arranged during specified times (1-4 p.m. or 7-9 p.m.) on April 13 or 14 at the community rink. ....
