A new pilot program in Phoenix is increasing public access to chilled water. The city recently installed two fountain prototypes downtown.Just off Washington Street near Third Avenue, in Cesar Chavez Plaza, is a bright blue water fountain. On each side you can get a drink. In the middle, you can fill a bottle.

The historic Eastlake Park neighborhood in Phoenix held its annual Juneteenth celebration. Countless civil rights activists have graced Eastlake Park, from W.E.B. Du Bois to Martin Luther King Jr. The neighborhood is “so important to the civil rights history of Arizona," said Mayor Kate Gallego.
